There have been several inventions that have changed the life of mankind. You might have a few of your favorite ones. Let us look at two such inventions that are Velcro and the Paper Clip.
The twentieth century had the most useful invention and that was Velcro. It is used in the fashion and space industry. You might want to think of who invented Velcro?. Who could have thought up of such an innovative product?
Well it is George de Mestra way back in 1941. Once, when on a walk with his dog he noticed some burrs on his clothes and got thinking about why they stuck like this. When he looked at them under the microscope he noticed small hooks. This set him thinking and the Velcro was born. After that there was no looking back for his invention.
The next product is the paper clip. We use it every day in our lives but never ever think of who invented the paper clip. John Ireland Howe was the one who invented the Paper clip. This invention came about in 1830, when an American doctor was able to make a machine that could make pins automatically. Before this pins were manually made which made the process cumbersome and the pins expensive due to this. This made it quite expensive for seamstresses to be able to use the pins liberally. This was until the machine made paper clip was made and that got the paper clips being used by everyone.
